The Challenge
A Nottingham based Original Equipment manufacturer (OEM) required precision cooling for a range of a printing machines. The machines use a process that passes cool air over freshly printed items to cool them quickly and without damaging the quality of the print. The ink itself also requires cooling to ensure that it enters the process at the right temperature. If any of these factors are handled incorrectly, the cost of printing will become too high, making it uneconomically viable for the End User.
The Solution

After consulting with the manufacturer on the temperature control requirements for their unit, the engineer recommended the iC305 chiller as it would be able to meet the requirements for cooling the air and the ink with a single unit. The iC305 is part of the i-Chiller range, which is specifically designed for process cooling, with a large storage tank allowing it to handle the large fluctuations in cooling demands the process requires. The units are also available as standard, meaning that they can be supplied quickly to allow the manufacturer to meet their deadlines.
The Result
The customer agreed with the Engineer’s proposal to use the unit for their product, placing an order of twenty units and continuing its twenty-year partnership with ICS Cool Energy. The manufacturer can now be sure that the equipment it produces will meet the strict requirements and be reliable for it’s End Users in the industry.
