Our client is one of the world’s largest suppliers of automotive acoustic solutions and other fiber-based products and operates manufacturing facilities across the globe. The challenge was to help the company maintain product consistent and quality across their manufacturing platforms by providing highly reliable and precise temperature control solutions for their process.
Through a consultative approach, we designed a tool and hydraulic cooling circuit to serve both new extrusion and form pressing lines. The thermal duty would to dissipate 350kW of chilled water at 10°C for the tool cooling and 200kW of ambient water at 30°C. In order to meet these requirements, we supplied 2 of our i-Chiller iC770 energy efficient packaged chillers with a cooling capacity of 139kW each. 2 of our compact but powerful i-Temp WD100 temperature control units (TCUs) able to provide temperatures up to 150°C. All products delivered, installed and commissioned by our highly experienced team of engineers.
The temperature control equipment we supplied provided more reliable and precise temperatures to our clients process than their aging equipment. This allowed them to operate their manufacturing process more efficiently by helping to maintain product consistency and repeatability. The precise temperatures helped lower wastage and enabled product quality to be maintained throughout the different stages of the manufacturing process. Richard Metcalfe – Director UK&I – said “Our partnership approach enabled us to find the right temperature control solution for our client’s needs. A solution that was both more efficient and reliable to help them maintain product quality and their global reputation.”
