The Solution<\/h2>\n

The world-renowned breakfast cereal producer, making 250,000 cereal biscuits every hour, needed to replace its existing five chillers and wanted a system that delivered state-of-the-art performance as well as energy saving.<\/p>\n

The full turnkey project replaced the existing chillers with just two 1.2mW chillers and two free cooling units with a combined cooling capacity of 2.4mW delivering high performance for full and partial loads.<\/p>\n

With product temperatures fluctuating and energy efficiency being the key, ICS Cool Energy selected
\ntwo Imperium IFX air cooled chillers. These use the latest energy efficient technology and the inverter- driven screw compressors with an A+ rating are further boosted with the integration free cooling technology.<\/p>\n

The total system operation is managed by a dedicated controller which engages the chiller\u2019s operation depending on the load profile coming back from the process. It increases or decreases the system flow rates using pump inverters so everything operates in unison with the overall process demands.<\/p>\n

Since the installation – which achieved its funding thanks to meeting the targeted return on investment within 18 months \u2013 further overall savings and efficiencies have been revealed.<\/p>\n

ICS Cool Energy said: \u201cDelivering the optimum and most effective system whatever the budget demands careful planning and an in-depth understanding of how the different component parts can work together. And then delivering the full project as a turnkey solution and after sales support which is difficult to match in the industry.<\/p>\n

In this case the bottom line result is a payback of around two years and impressive energy savings of about \u00a3200,000 as well as the peace of mind that there\u2019s 100% redundancy built in to the system.\u201d<\/p>\n
