To the rescue when drinks manufacturer’s chiller ran out of juice
The Challenge
It was a Christmas emergency when a major soft drinks manufacturer’s chiller literally ‘ran out of juice’ – the equipment was not winter-ready and the lack of glycol meant that the site’s dry air cooler froze and the fan coils split. The ICS Cool Energy hire team was on site the same day, with full production restored by the next day.
The Solution
Heavy snowfall and wintery Christmas conditions proved no obstacle for the ICS Cool Energy hire team when a producer of soft drinks got in touch when production failed on site, putting the bottling line at a standstill.
A pre-winter check had been overlooked, leaving the system without the essential glycol and the dry air cooler froze, splitting the fan coils. That same day a snowplough was brought in by ICS Cool Energy to clear the road so the lorry could deliver the emergency hire chiller 1000 with all ancillaries.
The team worked through the night to ensure the ‘rescue’ system was commissioned in the morning, allowing the bottling of orange juice destined to meet the New Year’s demand could continue.
