The Challenge<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Data Centres are integral to everyday life and ICS Cool Energy has a comprehensive range of Data Centre Cooling<\/strong><\/a> solutions from high capacity, energy efficient cooling to temporary solutions for emergencies and to provide cooling during essential maintenance. With a UK-wide network of experienced engineers, the ICS Cool Energy team is national, and local.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Solution<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

A typical example of a solution for a purpose-built data centre was delivered by the ICS Cool Energy hire team to assist with a replacement and refurbishment programme. Units in the main server room were being upgraded so temporary back-up was required during the programme of works to ensure downtime was avoided and data protected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Space was restricted so the hire team devised a clever solution to change units over gradually, using six compact 7.3kW Cool Clima units. These were installed while the air conditioning contractor prepared the pipework modifications for the new permanent units in a three week programme of works.<\/p>\n\n\n

The Result<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Another emergency project started with a call for ICS Cool Energy from a university where the sixth floor data centre cooling system had broken down and the heat was building up fast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The university\u2019s maintenance team had taken rapid action but the clock was ticking as there was no option to use cooler ambient air. ICS Cool Energy\u2019s team is on call 24\/7 and 365 days a year and is well practised at fast rescues but this was super-speedy, with a delivery of 11 Cool Clima units just three hours later, accompanied by installation specialists.<\/p>\n\n\n
