ICS Cool Energy has delivered a temperature control solution that ‘sticks’ at a new coatings and adhesives manufacturing site for a global leader in sustainable chemicals for industry, working in partnership with a leading engineering house.
A new production site was built to provide three production lines for coatings and adhesives that are used across industries including automotive, aerospace, construction, energy and electronics.
Following a thorough consultation, ICS Cool Energy designed a full turnkey temperature control solution with detailed drawings and inspection plans. Working alongside the engineering house and customer teams, ICS Cool Energy also ensured that plans were made to pass the stringent FATs (factory acceptance tests) and SATs (site acceptance tests).
The materials need to be heated in a pre-react mixer or vessel in an ATEX zone 2 and the temperature control equipment specfied included:
- 150kw i-Temp Plus pressurised water heater with a 150l/min ow rate to reach up to 160°C
- 180kw i-Temp Plus oil heater and a 240kw i-Temp Plus, both to reach temperatures of up to 300°C
The engineering house and the customer had one main point of contact at ICS Cool Energy, with a project manager co-ordinating the full delivery of the project, helping to save precious time and energy, freeing up the engineering house to manage the bigger project.
ICS Cool Energy’s technical design teams developed an engineering skid that provides precise control of process temperatures, repeatability and access to process temperature data for a complete audit trail.
And, so the production team could walk into their new factory and start production immediately, ICS Cool Energy commissioned the temperature control units and provided three days of on-site training for all the operators and engineers.
