One of the world’s biggest motor manufacturers needed a new temperature control system to help the Europe-wide research to develop the next generation of engines. ICS Cool Energy won the competitively-tendered project – delivering a fully integrated future- proof design with minimal maintenance and meeting a host of other demanding specifications.
The solution had to meet strict specifications and deadlines, using the latest technology with future- proofing, minimal maintenance and a design that could be standardised across their test cells. And all at a competitive cost.
Central to the project-managed solution were four i-Temp ‘plug and play’ fully packaged thermal oil heat/ cool systems designed to an exact footprint to meet space restrictions.
- Standard design, short lead time and fully CE marked meeting all European directives required

- PLC controller with serial interface allowing for remote process control
- Magnetic drive pumps (no seals), with out of circuit header tank

Word of a successful project is spreading through the manufacturer’s engineering teams, generating enquiries and more orders for ICS Cool Energy to fuel in 2017.
“It was an intensive and very demanding project and so it’s especially satisfying to receive such positive feedback,” said Ben Young, sales engineer.
“It was a very carefully thought-through process which has given the customer confidence as well as meeting objectives. The equipment is designed for performance and eliminates the need for intensive maintenance while the additional controls provide extra insight.
“Our solution also integrates with their management system so they have remote control with feedback on any alarms on temperature deviations which may compromise testing,” he added.
