Improve The Efficiency Of Your Existing Temperature Control Equipment

At ICS Cool Energy we don’t just develop, manufacture, sell, hire, install and service new equipment, we also offer a wide range of energy enhancement solutions to help save you money on the running costs of your existing temperature control equipment.

Whether it’s ICS Cool Energy equipment, or that of another supplier, we can help you achieve payback on your capital investment with our energy saving solutions.

Our services include:

  • Energy Analysis
  • Heat Recovery
  • Adiabatic Enhancements
  • Variable Speed Frequency Drives
  • Water Treatment
  • Oil Analysis & Refrigerant Circuit Cleaning

Energy Analysis

Both large and small companies are under pressure to reduce energy consumption and improve the operating efficiency of their equipment. The Energy Efficiency Directive (EED) dictates that a Building Energy Audit is carried out every 4 years for large enterprises, along with regular air-conditioning inspections to meet the directive.

The starting point for reducing your temperature control equipment’s running costs should always be conducting an energy analysis. You need to find out the current performance of your equipment – not the performance of it when new – in order to ascertain how efficient or in-efficient the equipment is and therefore what savings can be made.

Our national team of engineers can undertake an energy analysis of your temperature control system and provide a detailed overview and report of current performance, along with suggestions for improvements.

Heat Recovery

A cooling system is fundamentally about heat transfer – taking away the heat created by your process or application and transferring it to help cool the system.

Often the waste heat is rejected to the atmosphere, but it is possible to recycle this waste heat from your cooling systems and re-use it for other areas of your process or business. It is even possible to recover up to 70% of potentially wasted electrical heat energy.

The recycled heat can be used in other areas of your process if required and to provide hot water up to 70°C for domestic purposes including work kitchens and bathrooms. This can help save you money on your overall energy consumption costs.

Adiabatic Enhancements

An adiabatic enhancement is a unique system that improves the performance, reliability and energy efficiency of all air-cooled equipment, without requiring energy to provide its cooling effective.

The adiabatic enhancement works by reducing the temperature of the ambient air by as much as 20°C. A reduction of 10% alone can generate a 13% reduction in energy consumption to deliver immediate cost saving along with environmental benefits.

ICS Cool Energy can offer fitment of adiabatic enhancements to new and existing equipment.

Variable Speed Frequency Drives

Controlling the flow of air and water in temperature control systems is an effective way to meet the ever-changing demands put on a system and enhance its operating efficiency.

We can install a Variable Speed Drive or VSD, which is an electronic system that provides infinitely variable speed control of AC induction motors. This is an ideal energy saving solution, if for example, your process requires varying system flow rates.

We’ve helped clients achieve system enhancement payback within as little as 6 months.

Water Treatment

Water quality can greatly affect the efficiency, reliability and longevity of your temperature control equipment. If your system fluid is not checked, maintained and treated regularly then chances are your system isn’t operating as efficiently as it could be. It could also lead to long-term damage and breakdown, which in return will result in downtime and expensive repair bills.

As part of our planned preventative maintenance contracts, we’ll conduct the analysis – which includes laboratory analysis – and provide a detailed plan for you to implement to help treat the water and return it to the quality required.

Oil Analysis & Refrigerant Cleaning

If your temperature control system contains oil along with a refrigerant, then there is greater scope for system degradation over time.

Systems will need opening up for maintenance and repairs and every time they are moisture is allowed to enter the system. Modern polyester oils are very hydroscopic. Moisture mixed with polyester oil turns into acid, which will damage the system and cause degradation over time.

We can analysis the oil in your system to identify early signs of potential failure and help prevent costly breakdowns and replacements.

We have also developed a Ref-Cleanse system which provides a cascade triple filtration process. The system components are segregated, and refrigerant flushed through each area. All contaminates including oil, carbon, debris, sludge and any trace of moisture are completely removed from the circuit.

Summary

As your temperature control equipment ages, it’s operating efficiencies naturally start to decline which causes your energy consumption costs to increase.

We’ve developed a comprehensive range of energy enhancements designed specifically to protect your equipment, increase its lifecycle and greatly enhance its operating efficiencies. The energy
